Lisa Horton Inks Meet Gina K Wildflower Stems: Stenciling Magic
In this video project, I made a shimmery ‘Beautiful Friend’ card using Lisa Horton Crafts Interference and Colour Shift Inks on black cardstock, with the Gina K Designs Wildflower Stems Embossing Folder and Stencil Set. All products used in making this project are listed below.
Measurements
A2 Card Base, 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" when folded

Gina K Designs Wildflower Stems Bundle
The Wildflower Stems bundle by Gina K Designs is absolutely gorgeous! It comes with an embossing folder, coordinating die set, and a four-piece layering stencil set.
Lisa Horton Crafts Inks

Interference Inks
Lisa Horton Crafts Interference Inks have amazing properties where they show up as different colors on white/light-colored cardstock and black/dark-colored cardstock. In this project, I used Crimson Cheer, which is red on white, and green on black, for the flower stems.
I also used Interference Ink for the flower centers, in Crushed Velvet. This color is purple on white, and gold on black.
Colour Shift Inks
For the other foliage and flowers, I used the Lisa Horton Crafts Colour Shift Inks in Under the Sea, Lagoon Punch, and Coral Waters. Colour Shift inks are like a combination of pigment ink and interference ink. They are so smooth and blend amazingly with other inks. They have a lot of shimmer and the color changes when on top of white or black cardstock, just like the Interference Inks.
Colour Shift Inks
- Under the Sea: Blue on White, Green on Black
- Lagoon Punch: Gray-green on White, Pink on Black
- Coral Waters: Coral on White, Blue on Black
For the Interference Inks and the Colour Shift Inks, the left side of the label is the color on white/light cardstock, and the right side is the color on black/dark cardstock.
Creating the Wildflower Stems Panel
First, I embossed a piece of Altenew Jet Black cardstock with the Gina K Designs Wildflower Stems Embossing Folder. Then I used the Lisa Horton Crafts inks and the layering stencil set to color in the images. I used a Simon Says Stamp Stencil Mat to hold my cardstock in place, and Altenew Mini Ink Blending Brushes for the stenciling.
I used my new Glassboard Studios MagInk tray to hold my blending brushes and ink pads while stenciling.
Finishing the Card Front
I heat embossed the “beautiful friend” sentiment from the Gina K Designs Delicate Flowers Stamp Set onto Altenew Jet Black cardstock using Simon Says Stamp Ultra Fine Gold Embossing Powder. I used the coordinating die to cut out the sentiment, and also cut out two more layers from the black cardstock. I glued the two plain black die cuts together and added the embossed sentiment to the top of the stack. Once that was finished, I added the stack to the card front.
I made a mat layer for the card panel from black cardstock, and I ran the Crushed Velvet ink pad along the edge to create a gold background mat. I added the card panel to the mat layer using black foam tape and glue, then added those layers to the Gina K Designs Wild Wisteria card base using my tape runner.
Inside of the Card
For the inside of the card, I cut a panel using Gina K Designs Layering Weight White Cardstock. Then I stamped the large floral image from the Gina K Designs Delicate Flowers Stamp Set with Wild Wisteria Ink towards the left side of the panel. I added the “love you” stamp with Onyx Black Ink, and adhered the panel inside the card.
