Stepped Up Design Details: Sheetload of Cards Sketch: June 2026
For this episode of my Wednesday Workshop Series, I followed the June 2026 Sheetload of Cards sketch to create four gorgeous Birthday, Thank You, and Get Well Cards. To step up the sketch and make it my own, I added easy details like chiffon ribbon, embossed vellum, and fancy rectangles. All products used in today’s card tutorial project are listed below.

Wednesday Workshop | Sketches and Fun Fold Cards Series
This project is part of my ‘Wednesday Workshop | Sketches and Fun Fold Cards’ Series. This series used to be published on Saturdays, but I have moved it to Wednesday for some mid-week card sketch inspiration! I have a playlist with all of the past episodes on YouTube if you want to check it out.
In this series, I find a card sketch on the internet and make a card (or more) using it. If making more than one card, the first one will stick closely to the sketch, while the others will have slight changes or demonstrate different techniques. I have added fun fold cards and one sheet wonders into the mix as well, so we have lots of creative options.
Sheetload Card Instructions
To make the cards, I used the Call Me Crafty Al’s SheetLoad of Cards Sketch for June 2026. Her video is linked in the box below, and it is where you can download the printable card sketch. This sketch makes twelve cards if you follow the directions exactly. It also lists the instructions to make one card if desired.

Preparing the Card Front Pieces and Card Bases
To create these cards, I cut the stunning Mintay Violet Whispers Paper according to the SheetLoad of Cards sketch. I used a two pieces of floral paper and a piece of the stripe paper for the upper and lower panel sections. I cut the mat layers from Taylored Expressions Concord Grape cardstock, and the card bases from Simon Says Stamp Ivory cardstock.

I used Pink & Main Heavyweight Vellum in the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Flora Embossing Folder, and then trimmed it into 2 x 4″ sections.

Stepped Up Card Elements
On this sketch, there is an open middle part between the top and bottom panels, and the edges facing the open part have torn edges. I used my Tim Holtz Deckle Edge Trimmer to cut a half-inch off each of the panels along the inside edge.
To add some texture to the card panels, I added 1/4″ adhesive tape along the deckle edges of the panels. I cut a piece of the purple chiffon ribbon, and then cut it in half lengthwise so I’d have a strip for the bottom and top panels. I added the chiffon strip to the deckle edge on the panels, then added 3/8″ adhesive tape to the back of the panels, placing the tape over the ribbon and the panel to secure it.

Once that was complete, I removed the release paper on the tape and used my Scor-Buddy to help me line up the top and bottom panels correctly. The top panel was placed face down in the corner and taped in place to hold it there. I lined up the smaller bottom panel with the 5 1/4″ mark on the ruler, and also taped it to hold it there. I then added the embossed vellum face down over the gap, making sure it was stuck to the adhesive tape. Please check out the video if you have any questions on how I put the panels together.
Now that I had a complete card panel, I put Altenew Black Foam Tape on the back, avoiding the vellum section. I added liquid glue to the foam for some wiggle time, and then added the panel onto the Concord Grape Mat. Finally, I added the panel to the Ivory card base.
Sentiments
I used the Simon Says Stamp Teardrop Pinpoint Frames Die Set to cut out four larger vellum mat layers, and four Ivory layers. For the sentiments, I used the Papertrey Ink Say It Essential Stamp Set, with Taylored Expressions Concord Grape ink. This set has a ton of small sentiments that fit perfectly on the small rectangles.

Using some 49 and Market Lavender Kisses ink, I added it around the edges of the ivory die cut to make it look less stark and more vintage. I added the Ivory frame to the Vellum frame using tape runner, and then added the frames to the card front using liquid glue.
To make this easier, I turned over the frame and lined it up where I wanted it on the card front. This helped me to see where I needed to apply the glue on the back of it. I also added a small scrap of cardstock across the area that would be over the gap area to add some stability. Finally, I placed the frame on the card front and used a block on top to help the glue adhere.
Embellishments
For the butterflies, I used the Simon Says Stamp Flourish Butterfly Trio Die Set to cut four butterflies from Gina K Designs Sea Glass cardstock for the wings, and Concord Grape cardstock for the bodies. I used a Trinity Stamps Buddy Brush to first add Sea Glass ink to the edges of the wings, and then added Simon Says Stamp Periwinkle ink as well.

Once the butterflies were assembled, I used a Scrapbook.com Shimmer Marker Pen to add sparkle to the edges of the wings and the butterfly body. When that had dried, I added the butterfly to the sentiment rectangle on the front with liquid glue. Finally, I added Pinkfresh Studio Iridescent Dew Drops to the card fronts for more sparkle and shine.
Finished Card Fronts and Insides
I cut the inside panels from Ivory cardstock and inked the edges with the Lavender Kisses ink. I also added a scrap of patterned paper to the top or left side of the panels.

I adhered the panel inside the card base using temporary adhesive, and I will add permanent adhesive once I write out the message. This allows me to replace the panel if I mess up the writing, instead of having to tear the whole card apart.
