Dots of Summer: Spellbinders Stencil of the Month Club, May 2026
In today’s video project, I walk through the May 2026 Spellbinders Stencil of the Month called Dots of Summer. This is part of the “Hello Summer” collection, which has lots of Summer and Travel-themed products. I used Distress Inks in Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, and Uncharted Mariner for the stenciling. On the last layer, I stenciled with embossing ink and added Tumbled Glass Distress Embossing Glaze to add a little shine to the card front.
For the sentiment, I used the stamp set from Day 12 of the Spellbinders Crafty Advent Calendar, and the telephone die cut is from Day 11. All products used in today’s card tutorial project are listed below. Spellbinders sent me this stencil to have a play with, and I am grateful for the opportunity!

Creating the Stenciled Background
For this card, I added an A2 panel of Spellbinders Classic White to a Gina K Designs Sticky Mat, and stenciled the first four stencil layers using Distress Inks in Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, and Uncharted Mariner.

For the fifth layer, I used Simon Says Stamp Embossing Ink and a Picket Fence Pouncer to apply the ink through the stencil. Once complete, I added Distress Embossing Glaze in Tumbled Glass and heat set it with my embossing tool. Embossing Glaze is translucent, so it allows the dots in the background to shine through the heat embossing.

Layers, Card Base, Sentiment
I cut out the stenciled panel and the Spellbinders Teal Topaz mat layer using the Spellbinders Pinking Edge Birthday Add-ons Die Set. The A2 card base was cut from Cosmic Sky cardstock.

For the sentiment, I used the stamp set from Day 11 of the Crafty Advent Calendar with Peacock Feathers Ink. I cut out the sentiment using the Spellbinders Matting Basics B Die Set, and also cut out an additional layer and glued it behind the stamped layer for added stability.

Assembling the Telephone
The telephone die is from Day 12 of the Spellbinders Crafty Advent Calendar. For assembly instructions, I have a YouTube Short showing how to do so. I also have an unboxing playlist for the Crafty Advent Calendar in case you want to check out any of the other included products.

I cut out the background telephone piece and phone cord from Blue Spruce cardstock, and the top layer from Oceanside cardstock. I cut out the telephone dial from Blue Spruce cardstock, and paper-pieced the Oceanside circles into the telephone dial, then added Scrapbook.com Clear Glitter Brush Marker to the circles to add a little shimmer to the telephone.
Assembling the Card Front
I added the stenciled panel to the mat layer, then added that to the card base using tape runner. After adding Altenew Black Foam tape on the back of the telephone, I added that to the stenciled panel with glue for some wiggle room.
Next I added the sentiment underneath the telephone with liquid glue, and placed an acrylic block on top while it was drying to help it adhere well to the dotted panel.

Inside of Card
For the inside of the card, I added a strip from the leftover stenciled panel to the left side of a white panel, and then used the pinking frame to die cut it out. This left a really cool border along the inside panel.
I used the Happy Birthday dies from the same set and cut them out using Blue Spruce cardstock. Prior to die cutting, I added a piece of Altenew Double-Sided Adhesive to the back of the cardstock to turn the die cuts into stickers.

I then adhered the panel to the inside of the card using temporary adhesive. I find this is easier for me, so I can remove and replace the panel if I mess up when writing my message without having to tear my card apart.
