Beautiful Purple Butterfly Card: Cardz TV Sketch #77 | Wednesday Workshop Series
In this episode of my Wednesday Workshop Series, I created a beautiful butterfly card using Cardz TV Sketch #77 with the Scrapbook.com SBC Fest 2026 Lea Lawson class kit contents. All products used in today’s card tutorial project are listed below.
Wednesday Workshop | Sketches and Fun Fold Cards Series
This project is part of my Wednesday Workshop | Sketches and Fun Fold Cards Series. This series used to be published on Saturdays, but I have moved it to Wednesday for some mid-week card inspiration! I have a playlist on YouTube with all the past episodes if you’d like to check them out.
In this series, I find a card sketch on the internet and make a card (or more) using it. If making more than one card, the first one will stick closely to the sketch, while the others will have slight changes or demonstrate different techniques. I have added fun fold cards and one sheet wonders into the mix as well, so we have lots of creative options!

Wednesday Workshop Series: Card Sketch Information
For these cards, I used card sketch #77 from Cardz TV with Mary. She has a website and also a YouTube channel. Be sure to check out her blog for more card sketches.
Scrapbook.com SBC Fest 2026: Lea Lawson Class Kit
For this card, I used the products included in the Scrapbook.com SBC Fest 2026 Lea Lawson Class Kit. This kit contains: Heirloom Butterflies Die Set, Essential Thanks Sentiment Die Set, Nested Vintage Labels Die Set, A2 Butterflies Stencil, A2 Watercolor Paper Pad, and Large Zipper Storage Pouch. Some of the products are available for individual sale, and some items are exclusive to the class kit. I have listed the class kit and also the items available separately in the product links below.
Creating the Background
For this card, I cut the A2 card base from Gina K Designs Heavyweight White Cardstock and the mat layer from Wild Lilac cardstock. For the main background panel, I used a purple piece from the Scrapbook.com Watercolor Paper Pad. I cut the small and large labels from white cardstock, and then embossed the smaller label using the Studio Light Pretty Butterflies Embossing Folder.
Creating the Butterfly and Sentiment
To create the butterfly, I used the Heirloom Butterflies Die Set, and cut the largest butterfly from Wild Lilac cardstock. I used the next smallest butterfly die with Pink and Main Vellum, and cut the butterfly body from Spellbinders Brushed Silver Cardstock. I used Gina K Designs Connect Matte glue to adhere all the butterfly parts together.
For the sentiment, I used Wild Lilac cardstock, and Pink and Main Vellum for the shadow layer. I applied Altenew double-sided adhesive sheets to the backs of both papers before die cutting to make assembly super easy.
Assembling the Card Front
I attached the larger label die cut toward the right side of the purple watercolor panel, following the card sketch. Then I added a sparkly swirly ribbon from the Paper Wishes Purple Ribbon Set with double-sided tape across the panel, and wrapped it around to the back of the card. Next, I added the smaller embossed label towards the left side of the panel.
I peeled off the release paper from the back of the ‘Hi’ sentiment and added it to the bottom right of the larger label. After that, I applied Scrapbook.com 2mm foam tape on the back of the butterfly body and then added it to the card front, overlapping the labels and the ribbon strip.
Inside of the Card
For the inside of the card, I stenciled on the left edge of the panel using the Butterflies Stencil with Wild Lilac ink.
