Saturday Sketch Series-Episode 1: Cardz TV Sketch #4
In this video project, I launched my new card-making series, Saturday Sketch Series! In this first episode, I made three cards using Cardz TV Sketch #4 along with Gina K Designs Products. The first card is a Fall/Thanksgiving card, the second card is a Sympathy card, and the Bonus card is a Christmas card. All products used in making this project are listed below.
In this new series, I will find a card sketch on the internet and make a card (or more) using the card sketch. If making more than one card, the first one will stick closely to the sketch, while the others will have slight changes or demonstrate different techniques. In today’s cards, I used alcohol markers, heat embossing, water coloring with ink pads, embossing folders, and stenciling.

Saturday Sketch Series: Card Sketch Information
For these cards, I used card sketch #4 from Cardz TV with Mary. She has a website and also a YouTube channel. Be sure to check out her blog for more card sketches.
Card #1: Fall Card – Featuring the Gina K Designs Harvest of Love Stamp Set
For this card, I used Gina K Designs Ivory Cardstock for the card base, and to stamp the Harvest of Love image onto. I also cut out two additional Harvest of Love die cuts in Ivory to place behind the colored stamped image.
After stamping the pumpkin image with Lisa Horton Crafts Solid Black ink, I colored it in using Spectrum Noir TriBlend Markers. I used the following colors for the image:
- Burnt Orange
- Gold Yellow
- Light Green
- Green Turquoise
- Light Yellow
- Jade Green
- Dusty Purple
I cut out the label dies using Master Layouts 10 from Ivory and Plum Punch cardstock, the back mat from Plum Punch, and cut out the patterned paper according to the card sketch. The paper is from Craftsmith, and it is called Berry Tapestry Fall Paper Pad.
I glued the three layers of the pumpkin die cuts together, and then assembled the card following the instructions. I embellished the front of the card using Gina K Designs Clear Dew Drops.
Inside of Card #1
To decorate the inside of the card, I added a skinny strip of the patterned paper along the bottom edge of the Ivory Panel. The mat layer is cut from Gina K Designs Lovely Lavender, and the sentiment was stamped in Plum Punch and is from the Harvest of Love Stamp Set.
Card #2: Sympathy Card – Featuring the Gina K Designs Thankful and Blessed Stamp Set
For this Sympathy/Thinking of You card, I wanted to watercolor the image using Gina K Designs ink pads. I stamped the coneflower image from the Thankful and Blessed Stamp Set on Tim Holtz Watercolor Cardstock using Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink, and heat embossed it using Simon Says Stamp Clear Embossing Powder.
Once the powder was melted and shiny, I used Gina K Designs ink pads with a Tim Holtz detail water brush to color in the images.
- Leaves: Spruce Trio
- Flowers: Lilac Trio, Plum Punch
- Flower Center: Wild Dandelion, Sweet Corn
I cut out the focal image and a Black Onyx mat layer using the Single-Stitched and Double-Stitched Rectangle Die Sets from Gina K Designs. On the back panel, I wanted the Plum Punch strip to have stitching detail on the edges, so I adhered it to the White Cardstock panel before cutting it out with Master Layouts 2. I cut the back Black Onyx mat layer using the same die set.
I assembled the card following the card sketch once all the pieces were cut out.
Inside of Card #2
For the inside of the card, I cut a stitched panel out using Master Layouts 2. Next, I stamped the floral image in Plum Punch using the Vintage Spring Stamp Set. I used a sentiment from the same stamp set and added it in Lisa Horton Crafts Solid Black Ink to the top middle of the panel.
Envelope to Match-Card #2
For the matching envelope, I made an A2 envelope on my 1-2-3 Punch Board from We R Memory Keepers, using Speckletone Oatmeal Cardstock, and Gina K Designs Vintage Summer Stamp Set. I used Lisa Horton Crafts Solid Back Ink for the stamping.

Bonus Card: Christmas Card – Featuring the Gina K Designs Jolly Holly Bundle, and Festive Penguins Stamp Set
To make this card, I used the Jolly Holly Bundle and the Festive Penguins Stamp Set (from the A Little Something Card Kit). I wanted to show the added versatility of using a card sketch by turning it vertically. I cut out a White cardstock panel using Master Layouts 2 to get the stitching on the edges of the panel. I also cut out a Black Onyx mat layer using the same die set. I attached a strip of Simon Says Stamp Vellum across the middle of the card vertically, and then embossed the panel using the 3D Jolly Holly Embossing Folder.
I cut out the center square panel and the Cherry Red mat layer using the Single-Stitched and Double-Stitched Squares Die Sets from Gina K Designs. I also cut out two holly images, one in White cardstock, and the other in Simon Says Stamp Vellum. Using the embossing folder, I embossed the cardstock holly piece to add the gorgeous detail to the die cut.
Next, I stenciled the berries onto the holly die cut using the coordinating stencils and Cherry Red ink. I stamped the sentiment on the bottom right of the square using Lisa Horton Crafts Solid Black ink. This sentiment is from the Festive Penguins Stamp Set, which is in the A Little Something card kit for October 2025. I have an unboxing post and video for this card kit if you want to check it out.
I assembled the card according to the card sketch and added the panels to a Christmas Pine card base. Once the card was assembled, I layered the holly die cuts together and added them to the focal panel. To finish off the front of the card, I used gold pearls from the Gina K Designs Black, Gold, and Silver Mini Pearl Embellishment Mix.
Inside of Card #3
For the inside of this card, I used the snowflakes from the Festive Penguins Stamp Set, and stamped them along the left edge of the panel using Lisa Horton Crafts Solid Black ink. The White panel was cut using Master Layouts 2.
