How to Make a Matching Card & Envelope from ONE Sheet of Paper (1-2-3 Punch Board Tutorial)
I needed to make some envelopes for a recent set of 3 3/4 x 5″ note cards I had made, and realized that I could create a note card AND a matching envelope from the same piece of 12 x 12″ paper!
For this episode of Wednesday Workshop, I used a sheet of the 12 x 12″ patterned paper from the Paper Wishes/Hot Off the Press Flit & Flutter Collection. Then I used the We R Memory Keepers 1-2-3 Punch Board to create the envelope. All products I used in this project are listed below.

Wednesday Workshop | Sketches and Fun Fold Cards Series
This project is part of my new ‘Wednesday Workshop | Sketches and Fun Fold Cards’ Series. This series used to be published on Saturdays, but I have moved it to Wednesday for some mid-week card sketch inspiration! I have a playlist with all of the past episodes on YouTube if you want to check it out.
In this series, I find a card sketch on the internet and make a card (or more) using it. If making more than one card, the first one will stick closely to the sketch, while the others will have slight changes or demonstrate different techniques. I have added fun fold cards and one sheet wonders into the mix as well, so we have lots of creative options.
Measurements:
Note Card - Top Folding
Card Base: 3 3/4 x 5"
3 3/4 x 10", Score at 5"
Inside Panel: 3 1/4 x 4 1/2"
Envelope - (per online calculator for 1-2-3 Punch Board)
Paper: 7 7/16" x 7 7/16"
Score Lines: Sides 1 & 3 - 3 1/4", Sides 2 & 4 - 4 3/16"

Creating the Note Card
For this top-folding note card, I trimmed the left side off a 12 x 12″ piece of Flit & Flutter patterned paper at 3 3/4″. Then I cut the strip down to 3 3/4 x 10″, and scored it at 5″. I used my bone folder to burnish the score line and create the note card. This is a very simple and easy card to create, as the beautiful paper does all the work!

Off camera, I cut a panel of Gina K Designs Ivory cardstock for the inside panel, and added one of the Flit & Flutter die cuts to the top left. I also stamped it with a ‘Thank You’ sentiment from the Papertrey Ink Pro Stamper’s Box: March, using Altenew Olive Grove ink.

Assembling the Envelope

This what the 1-2-3 Punch Board looks like, and you can use it to make envelopes, bows, and boxes. I used this online calculator to find the exact measurements I needed to make this envelope. https://crafterskey.blogspot.com/p/calculator.html
This calculator is great because it shows the measurements for any size envelope you need. In this case, we need a square sheet of paper measuring 7 7/16 x 7 7/16″. I cut the square from the leftover right side of the 12 x 12″ Flit & Flutter patterned paper.

Our first score line on the punch board is 3 1/4″. Score, and punch, and then rotate the paper one turn to the left. The next score line is 4 3/16″, score and punch, then rotate a turn to the left. The opposite score lines are on the same measurements, so the third score line is back at 3 1/4″. Score, punch, and turn to the left once more. The fourth score line is at 4 3/16″ again; score, punch, and you’re all done with the scoring. Check out the video for a visual explanation of this process.
The 1-2-3 Punch Board comes with a corner rounder at the top of the board. Round your corners if you like. Then fold all the score lines and use a bone folder to burnish the folds. I like to use 3/8″ double-sided adhesive for the bottom flaps of the envelope, and 1/4″ double-sided adhesive for the top flap.

I hope you enjoyed this project! For more information on how to make other sizes of envelopes on the 1-2-3 Punch Board, check out my Punch Board playlist or blog posts. And for more card-making ideas, check out my YouTube playlist and card-making blog posts.
