Simon Says Stamp Poinsettia Die, Two Gorgeous Cards!
In this project, I used the Simon Says Stamp Poinsettia Die to make two beautiful Holiday cards in traditional and non-traditional colors. The sentiments on the card fronts are from the Simon Says Stamp Tree Plate Greetings stamp and die set. All products used in making this project are listed below.

Poinsettia Card #1 – Traditional Colors
Using the Simon Says Stamp Poinsettia Cover Die, I die cut a panel of the Simon Says Stamp Rainbow Splash Scarlet cardstock, and Neenah Classic Crest 110lb. cardstock. Then I trimmed out a couple of rectangles from the Simon Says Stamp Rainbow Splash Emerald cardstock, and die cut out the leaf sections. I cut small panels of Simon Says Stamp Luxe cardstock and die cut out all of the berry sections. I used my Glassboard Studio CraftCatcher Trays to keep all of the pieces organized while doing the paper-piecing.
I added the Scarlet Poinsettia Die Cut to an Emerald mat using liquid glue. Next, I paper-pieced the White flower petals, Emerald leaves, and Luxe berries into the Scarlet die cut to complete the image.
Sentiment
For this card, I used the ‘Happy Holidays’ stamp and die set from the Simon Says Stamp Tree Plate Greetings. I heat-embossed the sentiment onto Emerald cardstock using Simon Says Stamp Clear Embossing ink with Hero Arts Iridescent Embossing Powder in Gold. I cut an additional die-cut layer out of the Emerald cardstock and glued that behind the heat-embossed layer, then added the sentiment to the card front with glue.
Inside of Card #1
I cut a panel out of Neenah Classic Crest 80lb. White cardstock and stamped it using a sentiment from the Waffle Flower Family Christmas Sentiments stamp set with Gina K Designs Dark Spruce ink. I added a snowflake stamp from the Simon Says Stamp Heartfelt Snowflakes stamp set using Gina K Designs Light Spruce ink. After that was complete, I added the panel to a Scarlet mat layer, and then added those layers inside the Neenah Classic Crest 110lb. White cardstock card base using temporary adhesive.
Poinsettia Card #2 – Non-Traditional Colors
Using the Simon Says Stamp Poinsettia Cover Die, I die cut a panel of the Brutus Monroe Glitterstock in Graphite, Simon Says Stamp Royal Purple cardstock, and Simon Says Stamp Midnight Green cardstock. Then I used Gina K Designs Dark Spruce ink with a blending brush to add some shading on the Midnight Green leaves. For the Royal Purple flower petals, I shaded them using Altenew Hydrangea ink.
I added the Graphite die cut panel to a mat made from Altenew Jet Black cardstock with liquid glue, then paper-pieced in the Royal Purple petals and berries, and Midnight Green leaves, into their correct spots.
Sentiment
For this card, I used the ‘Merry Christmas’ stamp and die set from the Simon Says Stamp Tree Plate Greetings. I heat-embossed the sentiment onto Midnight Green cardstock using Simon Says Stamp Clear Embossing ink with Ink on 3 Embossing Powder in Chrome. I cut an additional die-cut layer from the Midnight Green cardstock and glued it behind the heat-embossed layer, then added the sentiment to the card front with glue.
Inside of Card #2
I cut a panel out of Neenah Classic Crest 80lb. White cardstock and stamped it using a sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp/Gina K Designs Merry and Light stamp set with Altenew Andromeda ink. I added a snowflake stamp from the same set using Altenew Wisteria ink. After that was complete, I added the panel inside the Neenah Classic Crest 110lb. White cardstock card base using temporary adhesive.
