Using the Cheerful Garden Mega Kit | SheetLoad of Cards Rewind (Jan 2023)
For this episode of Wednesday Workshop, I used the Sheetload of Cards Rewind Sketch for January 2023, with the new Gina K Designs Cheerful Flowers Embossing Folder from the Cheerful Garden Mega Card Kit. All products I used in this project are listed below.
Wednesday Workshop | Sketches and Fun Fold Cards Series
This project is part of my new ‘Wednesday Workshop | Sketches and Fun Fold Cards’ Series. This series used to be published on Saturdays, but I have moved it to Wednesday for some mid-week card sketch inspiration! I have a playlist with all of the past episodes on YouTube if you want to check it out.
In this series, I find a card sketch on the internet and make a card (or more) using it. If making more than one card, the first one will stick closely to the sketch, while the others will have slight changes or demonstrate different techniques. I have added fun fold cards and one sheet wonders into the mix as well, so we have lots of creative options.
Sheetload Card Instructions
To make the cards, I used the Call Me Crafty Al’s Sheetload of Cards Rewind Sketch for January 2023. Her video is linked in the box below, and it is where you can download the printable card sketch. This sketch makes eight cards if you follow the directions exactly. I decided to use the instructions listed to make one card for this project, and I love that the directions include the individual card measurements.

Middle Panel: 1 5/8 x 5"
Middle Mat: 1 3/4 x 5 1/8" (both cut with Master Layouts 13)
Inside Panel: 3 x 6"

Creating the Embossed Panel
For this card, I cut the background panel from Gina K Designs Heavyweight White Cardstock. Next, I used the two long rectangles from Master Layouts 13 to cut a mat layer, and to cut into the middle of the background panel.
I cut the mat layer from Gina K Designs Black Onyx cardstock, cut the middle out of the background panel using the stitched die, and also cut out a second white piece using the stitched die. Next, I turned over the background panel and placed the die cut piece back into the frame. I placed a couple of pieces of Easy See tape on the back to hold the piece in place.
Next, I placed the panel inside the Gina K Designs Cheerful Flowers Embossing Folder and ran it through my Sizzix Switch die cut machine.
Building the Card Front
After embossing, I removed the tape from the back of the panel, and added the embossed frame to the Black Onyx card base using Connect Matte glue. I pieced the non-embossed rectangle into the open frame and adhered it with glue.
I added the embossed rectangle to the black mat using glue, and then added those layers on top of the background panel. I made sure to line up the embossed images so they looked continuous from the raised panel across to the background.
Once those layers were attached, I cut the white and black bridge pieces and adhered them using my tape runner. I stamped a sentiment in Black Onyx ink, using the Gina K Designs Floral Framework stamp set. Then I added that piece across the card front, adding two layers of scrap strips on the ends so the bridge would lay flat across the front.
Finishing Up the Card Front
I cut out a flower using the coordinating die set, and embossed it with the embossing folder. Then I added it to the card front using foam squares, glue, and paper scraps so the flower would lay flat on the card front.
To decorate the front of the card, I added varying sizes of the Gina K Designs Black Metallic Dots to the flower centers, using Connect Matte Glue. These dots were very static-y in the bag, so I used my This Calls for Confetti anti-static powder wand inside the packaging to help stop them from jumping around. I used my Glassboard Studio MagInk tray to hold the dots while I was working, then used the funnel corner to easily pour them back into their bag when done.
Inside of Card
For the inside of the card, I cut a panel from the white cardstock, and used the Cheerful Flowers embossing folder to add embossed detail along the left side of the panel. I adhered the panel inside the card base using temporary adhesive, and I will add permanent adhesive once I write out the message. This allows me to replace the panel if I mess up the writing, instead of having to tear the whole card apart.
