Corner Fold Cards: Saturday Sketches and Fun Fold Cards-Ep. 8
This is the 8th episode of my new card-making series, Saturday Sketch Series! I have added to the topics covered in this series to include Fun Fold Cards. The new series name is Saturday Sketches and Fun Fold Cards. In this episode, I made three Corner Fold Cards: two Holiday Cards and one Birthday Card.
For these cards, I used Not 2 Shabby Special Delivery patterned paper, Not 2 Shabby A Woodland Christmas and Boho Critters Ephemera, Simon Says Stamp Ivory cardstock, and LDRS Pinpoint Circles. All products used in today’s card tutorial projects are listed below.
In this series, I find a card sketch on the internet and make a card (or more) using the card sketch. If making more than one card, the first one will stick closely to the sketch, while the others will have slight changes or demonstrate different techniques. I have added fun fold cards into the mix so we have lots of creative options.

Paper Products Used
Card #1 – 3
For these corner fold cards, I used the Not 2 Shabby Special Delivery 6 x 6″ patterned paper. The card bases, inside panels, and focal image circles are from Simon Says Stamp Ivory cardstock. I used the BearBoss Kraft as a mat layer inside the cards.
Card #2
For this card, I used a mat layer of Bear Boss Kraft cardstock for the background panel.
Assembling Card #1- Happy Christmas: Moose Corner Fold Card
I cut out the card base from Simon Says Stamp Ivory, and also die cut a circle from the LDRS Pinpoint Circles Die Set for the focal image. I used my Spellbinders Trimmer & Scorer to add a diagonal score line to the patterned paper, folded it down, and burnished the score line with my bone folder.
Next, I added the patterned paper panel to the card front using liquid glue, then glued the flap down as well to create the Corner Fold card design. I used the Simon Says Stamp Tree Plate Greeting Stamp Set, VersaFine Clair Pinecone ink, and my Misti Stamping Tool to add the sentiment diagonally on the top right of the card base.
I added the moose and gift ephemera from the Not 2 Shabby A Woodland Christmas Ephemera pack to the circle die cut using glue, and used a piece of Simon Says Stamp Big Momma Foam Tape on the back of the gift. Once that was complete, I used liquid glue to adhere the circle to the card front, overlapping the folded-down corner.
Inside of the Card
I used a sentiment from Papertrey Ink‘s Christmas Your Way stamp set, with Pinecone ink for the inside sentiment. I added a piece of ornament ephemera to the top left side of the panel, then added the panel to a BearBoss Kraft mat layer. I added the layers inside the card base using temporary adhesive.
Assembling Card #2- Birthday Card: Hedgehog Corner Fold Card
I cut out the card base from Simon Says Stamp Ivory, and also die cut a circle from the LDRS Pinpoint Circles Die Set for the focal image. I used my Spellbinders Trimmer & Scorer to add a diagonal score line to the patterned paper, folded it down, and burnished the score line with my bone folder.
Background Panel
I cut a panel of BearBoss Kraft cardstock for the background panel, added Distress Oxide in Antique Linen on the flatter side of the embossing folder, and then ran the panel through my die-cut machine. This added a contrasting color to the panel and made it look like vintage lace.
Sentiment
For the sentiment, I used the new Not 2 Shabby Ultimate Sentiments Birthday Set and the coordinating die set. This stamp set is really fun as it has two sets of 10 sentiments per stamp, a standalone birthday sentiment, and a dash stamp. The main die cuts out all 10 sentiments at once, and also has multiple individual sentiment die strips that can be layered behind the sentiments. The layering dies come in many different styles: scalloped, stitched, and postage edges.
Putting the Card Together
I added the embossed lace panel to the card front using liquid glue, then added the patterned paper on top of that, and then glued the flap down as well. Next, I added the sentiment along the diagonal using Altenew foam tape.
I added the hedgehog ephemera from the Not 2 Shabby Boho Critters Ephemera pack to the circle die cut using glue, and then added Big Momma Foam Tape to the back of the circle. Once that was complete, I adhered the circle to the card front, overlapping the folded-down corner.
Inside of the Card
I used the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Not 2 Shabby Ultimate Sentiments stamp set, with Pinecone ink for the inside sentiment. I added another Boho Critter to the top left side of the panel, then added the panel to a BearBoss Kraft mat layer. I added the layers inside the card base using temporary adhesive.
Assembling Card #3- Peace: Christmas Tree Corner Fold Card
I cut out the card base from Simon Says Stamp Ivory, and also die cut a circle from the LDRS Pinpoint Circles Die Set for the focal image. I used my Spellbinders Trimmer & Scorer to add a diagonal score line to the patterned paper, folded it down, and burnished the score line with my bone folder.
Next, I added the patterned paper panel to the card front using liquid glue, then glued the flap down as well. I used the Simon Says Stamp Heartfelt Snowflakes Stamp Set, VersaFine Clair Spruce ink, and my Misti Stamping Tool to add the sentiment diagonally on the top right of the card base.
I added the tree ornament ephemera piece from the Not 2 Shabby A Woodland Christmas Ephemera pack to the circle die cut using glue, then added a sparkly gem to the ribbon from the Pinkfresh Studio Champagne Glitter Drops. Once that was complete, I added Big Momma Foam Tape to the back of the circle and adhered it to the card front, overlapping the folded-down corner.
Inside of the Card
I used a sentiment from Papertrey Ink‘s Christmas Your Way stamp set, with Spruce ink for the inside sentiment. I added a piece of ornament ephemera to the top left side of the panel, then added the panel to a BearBoss Kraft mat layer. I added the layers inside the card base using temporary adhesive.
