Level Up Your Birthday Cards Using the Next Gen Stamp Set From Gina K Designs
In this project, I made a video game-themed teen Birthday Card using the Next Gen Stamp and Die Set from Gina K Designs. I used Simon Says Stamp Matte Silver Cardstock, the Lisa Horton Crafts Celebration Sentiments Embossing Folder, and the Gina K Designs Circle Windows Plate for the front card panel.
The Next Gen Stamp and Die Set is part of the current Gina K Designs Card Kit for June 2025 called Relax and Have Fun. You can check out the unboxing video and the blog post for this kit. The Next Gen Bundle will be available for individual sale during the next product release in July 2025. All products used for this project are listed below.

Measurements:
A2 Card Base, 8 1/2 x 5 1/2", Score at 4 1/4"
Inside Card Panel: 3 3/4 x 5"
Inside and Card Front Mat Layers: 4 x 5 1/4"
Circle Die Panel: 3 1/2 x 4 3/4"
Card Elements
For this card, I stamped out the headset, video game controller, and three word bubbles with sentiments and emojis. To do so, I used my Mini Misti with Altenew Jet Black Ink, Distress Black Soot Ink, and Gina K Designs inks in Sea Glass, Powder Blue, and Blue Sky.

Gina K Design Next Gen Stamp Set Tip:

**I discovered that it was much easier to stamp the sentiment first, then stamp the word bubble over the sentiment. This allows you to look through the word bubble stamp and line it up perfectly over the stamped sentiment.**
Coloring the Stamped Images
For the headset and video game controller, I colored them with Spectrum Noir TriBlend alcohol markers in the following shades:
- Ice Grey Shades
- Ice Grey Blends
- Dark Red Blends
- Citrus Blends
- Jade Green Shades
- True Blue Blends
I also used the new Gina K Designs Iridescent Gel Pens to add some sparkle to the headset, controller buttons, and game pad. These pens are so sparkly, write smoothly, and come in a pack of 18 colors.

I die cut out all of the images using my Mini Empress machine, as well as two additional die cuts for each image. I layered the two blank die cuts together using my Glue Press, and then glued the stamped images on the top to add dimension to the die cuts.
Decorating the Card Front
Using the Gina K Designs Circle Windows Plate Die, I cut out the image from Simon Says Stamp Matte Silver Cardstock. I then used my Sizzix Switch Machine with the Lisa Horton Crafts Celebration Sentiments Embossing Folder to emboss the die cut. This created a lot of texture and visual interest to the card front. I added 1/4″ foam tape from Scrapbook.com to the back of the embossed panel, and then added the panel on top of a mat layer cut from Tonic Studios Starlit Sky Cardstock. Then I added the panel and mat to the card base I made from Gina K Designs White Heavyweight Cardstock, using my tape runner.
I used my Glue Press to add the headset, game controller, and word bubble die cuts inside the circle openings on the card front.

Finishing up the inside of the card
I cut a white card panel using Gina K Designs Layering Weight Cardstock, and matted it using the Starlit Sky Cardstock. I added a leftover word bubble to the top of the panel using liquid glue. Using the Starlit Sky Cardstock, I cut out a tuck pocket for a gift card using the Lisa Horton Crafts Nested Curved Pockets Die Set. I used 1/8″ double-sided tape on the straight edges of the die cut to adhere the tuck pocket to the card insert.

Decorating the Envelope
I made an envelope on the We R Memory Keepers 1-2-3 Punch Board with Gina K Designs Heavyweight White Cardstock. For tutorials on how to use the punch board to make varying sizes of envelopes, including custom sizes, you can check out that playlist here. I used the Gina K Designs Birthday Wishes Stamp Set to decorate the front and the back of the envelope. On the front of the envelope, I added the vertical sentiment to the front left-side of the envelope, which fit there perfectly.
