Creating an Easy Vintage Envelope Card using Waffle Flower Dies

The Waffle Flower Envelopes Die is pretty cool and really ingenious. You can use it on any size card panel, large or small. I cut a piece of patterned paper from the Photoplay Beautiful Junque collection to 5 1/2 x 4″, and ran it through my Sizzix Switch with the Envelopes Die. This cut the envelope lines into the card panel. I snipped off the top flap as I wanted to use the reverse as the top flap on the envelope. I ink blended all the edges using Distress Oxide Bundled Sage, then again with Distress Ink Vintage Photo.

I used the middle size of the Waffle Flower Wax Seals Trio Die Set to make the faux wax seal for the card front. I cut the bottom ivory layer from the Photoplay Beautiful Junque Variety pack, then ink blended the edges with Distress Ink Vintage Photo. The tan middle layer was cut from the same paper pack. The top layer and the heart were cut from Altenew Brushed Rose cardstock.

I used my Xyron sticker maker to add adhesive to the paper before die cutting it so it would be easier to put the wax seal die cuts together with no mess.

I used the Postage Collage Mini Deals Die Set to cut the foliage pieces from the Photoplay Beautiful Junque Variety Pack. Then I added some Distress Ink Vintage Photo to the edges of the foliage to add depth and dimension. Next, I stamped the sentiment “Hello Friend” from the Waffle Flower Simply Said Stamp Set with Distress Oxide Vintage Photo.

For the inside of the card, I cut a ivory panel from the Photoplay Beautiful Junque Variety Solids pack to 3 3/4 x 5″. I added a beautiful butterfly stamp from the Waffle Flower Postage Collage Wild Butterflies Stamp Set, stamped with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink.
